December is about to arrive and my workload to increase so yesterday for the final time in 2016 i popped along to Sound Gallery to make some music.
One of those tracks was a Christmas-y number.
Let There Be Peace was first released as a live acoustic track back in 2012 and this latest version was started in 2015 and finished off just a day ago.
The piano intro is played by Duncan Chave the studio engineer. As always he adds extra touches to my songs, making them final products and taking them the loose idea i enter the studio with, it’s great to work with him.
Lyrically the song speaks of peace on earth and wanting people to be good and kind all year round, not just saving it for Christmas.
Love plays a huge part in Christmas, it’s when we strive a bit harder to give to those in need and show our friends and family just how much they mean to us. We need more compassion and kindness in the world.
Among the 5 songs in the playlist is a not-quite ready version of Winter Wonderland which features Amy Walklett singing. With a bit of forethought and planning maybe next year i’ll be able to present a collection of Christmas recordings made with Amy.
Time will tell on that front, but until then i hope you’ll enjoy the new track.
