May is coming to an end which means the annual VegFest in Bristol has just taken place and this year i was lucky enough to get my change to sing some songs on their new buskers stage.
As usual the event was a massive success!

Rockin’ The Vegan Bop @ VegFest, Bristol [22nd of May]
I’d applied to perform at VegFest many times over the years so to my chance this year was great! I’ve performed at vegan events in Wolverhampton (West Midlands Vegan Festival), Plymouth (Earth Cafe), Newton Abbot and Cornwall (Cornwall Vegan Festival) and to be able to include a set at VegFest completes a lovely set of festivals/events.

The rain stayed away which was welcome and as i sang my songs it was lovely to look out and see people stopping to have a listen.
It was my first live performance of the year and there were a few stumbles over lyrics but the positives of the day far outweigh a few mistakes, great to not only be back on stage but to catch up with friends and see the festival growing made it a fine way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Bristol.
My set was a mix of my vegan and non-vegan songs, starting with Talkin’ Vegan Blues, which is my standard opener for vegan events and i decided to end by performing a cover of The Beatles song All You Need Is Love, it’s very rare i perform covers but thought i’d give it a go here, after all “love is all you need”.

Next year the main stage?
Of course my single The Vegan Bop was performed, you can find the complete setlist at rossmayhew.co.uk.
Hopefully if the buskers stage returns next year in Bristol i will once again sing some songs but until then it’s time to get on the search for more venues and events to perform at.
